monday: stayed in and rummaged through some more old boxes of stuff. i have way too much stuff. drove to the 99 cent store (5 minute drive from home) and forgot which small streets i took to get there and finally found my way back home in 30 minutes. embarrassing, i know. frustrating, very much so. was supposed to meet jaime for lunch in downtown, but decided to take a break from driving. had taco bell taco salad, i know so bad but so good (more food diary photos coming soon). felt nice to lounge at home for once, drove to brother's work around 5pm to watch Star Trek - surprisingly good, considering i was never a Star Trek fan - and no, i did not cry. got picked up by olivia at night, slept over to wake up the next morning and get straight to sewing...
tuesday: woke up around 8am, had a lovely morning bagel breakfast with oli, got ready and headed out to the fashion district on a hunt for some satin ribbon. didn't realise how difficult it would be to find extremely thin, single layer, 1/4" satin ribbon. after hunting through about 7 trimming shops, we gave up and went for lunch at a local mexican joint. had a fish burrito, went home, and mapped out plan B (this dress is going to take over me if i don't take over it first!!). spent the rest of the day creating plan B for the wedding dress that will now no longer have 1/4" satin ribbon for the sleeves. oli forced me to stop around 10pm when she realised i was starting to go a little kookoo. it's just so close to finishing....so close. went to bed dreaming about waking up to find a magically done dress. decided to sleep over oli's again to wake up on wed. and attempt to sew again and not stop until my eyes bleed.
goals for the day: finish the darn dress already (satin binding on the inside, lining, accomplish plan B, re-overlock hems).
tomorrow, jaime's taking me to the flower market to shop for the bouquet. i'm going for a 30's style theme. friday: hair and makeup trial day, exciting :).
it's starting to get boiling hot now, shower time. xxx
t-minus 4 more days!!
